Steam Cleaning
This is the preferred method of carpet cleaning by carpet manufacturers. It is also called hot water extraction. This can be done with either a truck-mounted or portable unit. This is a good method to clean heavily stained carpets.
The carpet is cleaned with the first cleaning solution. Hot water is used to rinse it off. The cleaning agent is very thorough as it involves a lot flushing. It takes around 24 hours to dry. However the high heat ensures that the carpet is clean and free of bacteria, mold, mildew, and dust mites.
Dry Cleaning
There are many ways to clean carpets.
Foam Method – A machine vibrates the foaming shampoo into carpet to absorb dirt. It is then let dry and the soil is removed. Some residue is left behind after the carpet dries quickly.
Bonnet cleaning – This method is popular because it’s more effective than steam cleaning. The carpet is then cleaned with the cleaning solution. This will absorb all dirt and soil. The solution is then soaked into the cotton bonnets. You can also make bonnets from synthetic material.
– The Powder Method – Semi-moist dust is applied to the carpet. This absorbs any soil. It is left to dry for a few hours before being vacuumed. It quickly dries carpet, although some residue remains.
