MetaTrader is the trading platform of choice for many forex brokers. MetaTrader 5 has many advantages, such as the support for automated trading. It also allows you to run MQL5 code and includes a variety of built-in indicators. The MT5 template library is limited and useless for those who want to customize their forex charts. Step 1

Close any charts open in MT5.

Choose “Chart Window.” by selecting any pair of currencies. Click on any currency pair and select “Chart Window.”

You can select the “properties” option by clicking on a specific area in the currency chart.

You can change the visual style of the currency graph by selecting the “Colors”. This is where you can customize the look of the currency chart. Choose the colors you desire by selecting the drop-down menus next to chart elements. When you are making changes, the chart will be displayed in the Properties window.

You can now click on the “Common Tab” to change the color scheme. MetaTrader allows you to change how the elements of the charts are displayed. When you are done making all of the adjustments, just click “OK”. You will see the updated chart.

Choose your preferred timeframe when you right click on any area of the currency chart.

Then, right click again on any section of the graph and point at “Template”, then select “Save Template.” In the “Filename:” window, type “Default”, and click “Save.” The new timeframe and visual style will apply to any charts you open in the future.

Alerts

In order to use a template that you have not saved with the “Default File Name”, you need to load it manually every time you want it. For manual application of a template simply click right anywhere on the chart, select “Template”, then click left the name.
